Fellow stewards, At the Union meeting of September 12, 2024 under good of the Union we passed the hat for brother Wiliam Lombard and collected $7615.00 dollars, also a collection at our picnic raised $2211.00 dollars for a total of $9826.00, of which the hall will match half. A motion was made to pass the hat for brother Daniel Riegel, brother Riegel is a JT who worked for Ducci and Riggs Distler, Daniel suffered from a serious heart condition and on August 29th of this year he succumbed to this condition and passed away. Please take the time to take collections at our show-ups and encourage our members to attend our next union meeting.Other issues discussed under good of the union were the rash of incidents that are happening, while many of them are small things, if we can't do the small things right, why should they trust us to do the bigger things safely? We are in a lean time when it comes to work picture, our product needs to be better or Eversource could start looking elsewhere for help to complete their work load. Be our brothers keeper, not just during a critical task but always look after our fellow local 42 brothers and sisters. When we see someone cutting a corner or performing an unsafe act , call that person out, make them think about what their actions could possibly affect. It could be you save them from hurting themselves or someone else. Let's bring back communication and watch the new guy, make him feel accepted , but also make sure he's doing his job safely.In the end we can fix things or we can make them worse, but either way it's up to us.
